How Yenepoya International School moved its K-10 computer lab from passive screen time to a full project-based CS program — with a clean block-to-Python transition that students actually finished.

The existing computer lab functioned mostly as a typing-and-browsing room. Students arrived to screens but left without artifacts — no projects, no portfolio, no measurable progression in problem-solving skills.
Teachers without CS backgrounds were expected to deliver coding lessons cold, often falling back to worksheet-style activities that didn't carry over week-to-week.
The school wanted a single program that would carry a student from block-based logic in primary school into text-based programming (Python) by middle school — without a hard break that lost the weaker students mid-transition.
Digiverse (digital literacy) ran in parallel with Codiverse (programming + AI) from Grade 1 onward, so digital fluency and computational thinking developed together rather than as competing electives.
Every week followed the same scaffold — students use a working example, modify it to change behaviour, then create their own variation. The structure removed the 'I don't know where to start' barrier that had been killing project completion.
Rather than switching languages cold, the curriculum runs side-by-side Scratch and Python lessons for one term so students see the same logic translated into both — Ms Bela called the transition 'seamless' in our partner review.
Print Smart Books with QR-integrated digital resources gave students a physical artifact to take home; the KMS platform handled auto-grading, the 24/7 AI tutor, and the teacher's classroom dashboard.
